报告一:

Title: A survey on the applications of Niho exponents

Abstract:  The Niho exponent was introduced by Yoji Niho, who investigated the cross

correlation function between an m-sequence and its decimation sequence in 1972. Since

then, Niho exponents have been used in other research areas such as in cryptography and

coding theory. In this talk, we will introduce some research problems related to Niho

exponents and survey some progress in the application of Niho exponents.

报告人概况: 2006、2009年于湖北大学获理学学士和硕士学位;2013年于西南交通大学信息安全专业获工学博士学位。2014年3月至8月于香港科技大学从事博士后研究工作。2014年至2016年于挪威卑尔根大学从事研究员工作。目前主要从事密码函数的构造及其在序列设计与编码理论中的应用等方面研究工作。

 

报告二:

MDS codes with small sub-packetization for distributed data storage systems

摘要:MDS (Maximum Distance Separable) codes based distributed  storage systems, which can reduce the storage overhead significantly and can tolerate against node failures, have attracted a lot of attention and applications. Up to now, most high-rate MDS codes with the optimal repair bandwidth have a significantly large sub-packetization level, thus they are hard to implement. In this talk, we first introduce a series of special partitions of the standard basis set and then present a general transformation to reduce the sub-packetization level of high-rate MDS codes. Especially, two explicit high-rate MDS codes with small sub-packetization level over small finite fields are given based on the set partitions.

报告人概况:李杰,湖北大学数学系博士后,主要研究方向为分布式存储系统、序列设计、编码理论等。2017年获西南交通大学信息安全博士学位,博士期间在美国田纳西大学联合培养一年(国家留学基金委资助)。目前主持国家自然科学基金青年科学基金项目一项、中国博士后科学基金面上项目一项。近五年在IEEE Trans. Inf. Theory, IEEE Trans. Commun., IEEE Commun. Lett. 等高水平期刊上发表学术论文10余篇。

   2017年获IEEE Jack Keil Wolf ISIT Student Paper Award和中国电子学会第二十四届信息论学术年会最佳报告奖;2016年获IEEE Chengdu Section Excellent Student Paper Award
